Outcome

This blog has evidently covered the most significant areas that concern the user groups such as the customers, employees and the bank itself. It is apparent that digital banking does have a great impact on these user groups; whether in a positive direction or a negative. On the positive point of view, digital banking can increase the efficiency within the banks as machine can replace the human staff. This results to minimal queues which is highly convenient for the customers and also reduce expenses such as the staff wages/salaries. However on the negative point of view, the concerns of the digital division where customers with minimal knowledge of technology such as the elderly people can cause some grief for the banks.

Other aspects can also be brought in significantly in this area of study, the concerns of safety of using online banking is a major factor that will indefinitely be a problem to banks. Due to the closure of many bank branches in the UK, customers rely on online banking. However some customers avoid online banking as they perceive it as being too vulnerable to fraud. Therefore certain preventative measurements for the customers/bank must be taken into consideration. The digital revolution has increasingly enhanced over the up and coming years with new digital strategy taken into the planning of future banking models. The effect it has has caused great displeasure with thousands of job cuts and closure of branches in order to move digital.

In conclusion, in my opinion digital banking is significantly important especially in the long term as it highly convenient for myself. As a student and a part time worker, it is rare I find time to go to my local bank branch for the certain essentials like checking my balance. Also with the location of my home, it is quite a distance for the journey to my bank. Therefore by accessing my online banking, everything I need from a bank is on my phone. However the matter of closing bank branches cannot all be related to myself as many other customers rather have traditional bank due to personal reasons like lack of technology knowledge, or simply prefer customer service relationship. Digital banking has accelerated through the era of technology and it will be the way forward with banks taking huge investment into this by staff redundancies and bank closure however the matter of axing bank branches can be part of the plan of moving digital.
